In the Backyard

Okay, so usually during cleaning and/or playtime, the dogs are let out in the front yard with supervision. However, yesterday I put the dogs in the backyard. I blocked the two entrances with chairs or something, and the dogs are free to enjoy themselves. I tnk the dogs like the backyard because in the backyard, they are allowed to do whatever they want. This is so because the dogs don't make a mess in the backyard (and if they do, it's a small mess) like they make messes sometimes in the front yard. Anyways, yesterday they enjoyed themselves with the toys in the backyard, which is a good deal of dirt to dig in (sometimes I call it their sandbox) grass to eat (it cleans their stomache), a small blue ball, a tunnel for them to crawl through, plants to sniff, and other interesting things. Usually in the front yard I only assign them atleast three or four small toys to play with, and if they start to make a mess, the toys are taken away. I rotate the toys every month. (It's not bad, since they get to have their walks and grooming). Also, we take Spikey's plastic doghouse so they can rest in, then take it back to the front yard after backyard time is over. However this time we took Karamale's wooden doghouse, because of her puppies. Anyways, I haven taken some pretty good pictures.

So cute!

Oops...a mess ;)

Question of The Week: Names

How did they get their names?

As you know, my pets names are Guero, Karamale, Spikey, and Bunbun, the dogs; Rigo, Xiri, and Angeldove, the birds; and ofcourse Tubby, the turtle.  Each of their names has a special meaning to me.
Anyways, how did they get their names, you ask?

Guero - The name "Guero" means white in Spanish. It was difficult coming up for a name for Guero. We thought about the name Spot, or Snoopy, but decided guero made a nice Mexican name. Besides, the name Guero kind of gives the feeling of affection and care. (atleast for a dog)

Karamale - The name "Karamale" was inspired by a neighbor. We were having a conversation about nice names for dogs, and she mentioned the name karamale. I liked the name so much, so ofcourse when I recieved a fluffy black and white female puppy, I decided to name her Karamale. Yes, I know caramale is spelled with a "c", but I think it looks better and more elegant with a "k".

Spikey - I wanted to name Spikey "Miracles", but then changed my mind about it. The reason I changed my mind was because Spikey's father was named "Spike", and he died a few days after Spikey was born. So I thought it would be nice if we named his only son after him, with only a slight change to the name.

Bunbun - Bunbun's name is actually "Bonbon", which means "Marshmallow" if you translate it correctly. I, however, did not like how Marshmallow sounded when we called her. So, with slight changes to the name, it turned into Bunbun (which, in my opion btw, sounds nice)

Angeldove - Coming up with Angeldove's name was not an easy task. It took a few days to think of an apropiate name. I was pondering over whether my bird should be called "Angel" or "Dove". Finally, I just decided to combine the two names together and come up with "Angeldove". Ofcourse, now that I think about it, Snowflake would have been a better name. Oh well, Angeldove isn't too bad a name.

Rigo - Rigo's name was inspired by a neighbor. For some reason, she kept calling Angeldove "Rigo". I was confused about why she did so, but paid no mind to it. (not much anyway) So when Rigo arrived as a gift, I decided to call him "Rigo", which I decided was a good name. After that, my neighbor no longer called Angeldove "Rigo".

Xiri - The name "Xiri" is short for "Xiridian", a name I found on the internet. I decided the name Xiri was a very elegant name.

Tubby - I do not know where I got this name from. All I know is that I was thinking of good names that start with a "T."

And that, my friends, is how my pets got their beautiful names :)

A post isn't interesting without photos, so...

Puppy Pals

These  are our puppies from a while ago. I believe they Karamale's children.  Well, anyways, I called them the Puppy Pals, because each puppy matched to Guero, Karamale, Spikey, and Bunbun. Take a look for yourself.

Karamale Gives Birth

Congratulations Karamale! Karamale has given birth to her third or fourth set of puppies a few hours ago. So far, I have only seen two puppies, but there may be more. I will blog more soon about the puppies if and when I get the chance. Congratulations once again, Kare Bear!

Dog Food

The dog food bag spilled over mysteriously. As you can see, the dogs were most certainly enjoying this situation. I couldn't get a picture of Karamale - she went into her doghouse when she saw the camera.
